When Will It End?!

The coughing, the runny nose, the wheezing!
My sweet sweet little Bear has been pretty sick these past few weeks. He went to the doctor and the ER about 3 weeks ago. (And in December for this same problem). They gave him a breathing machine in December which did nothing for him and when he went back to the doc then, they gave him a steroid. Well this time it was the same thing; They told me the breathing machine will work for the Bronchitis and an antibiotic for the ear infection. Well, the ear infection cleared as I knew it would, but unfortunately (as I also predicted) the machine didn't help his breathing.

This past Monday night my mom pointed out that he was having an even harder time breathing. I agreed and my dad and I drove him to the ER where it was SOOO packed they had to start sending people to a different hospital, luckily not us. They gave him a few breathing treatments with a different medicine and gave him an oral steroid. He wasn't improving. His O2 (oxygen) levels when he was sleeping weren't as high as the doctor would have liked them to be, so he was admitted to the pediatric ward there.

They continued the breathing treatment with a steroid in there that will not affect the whole body this time, just the lungs. The put a tube down his nose to get the gunk out of his lungs, didn't let him sleep a wink, and discovered in the process that he had yet another ear infection! Way to make our day! Bear wouldn't play on the mat they provided or with any toys! He wouldn't eat his food (which he normally loves), and would only drink half his bottles (which he loves even more)! He was pretty grumpy a lot of the time, and semi-content a little bit of the time. We were finally able to leave the hospital Thursday morning in which I feel his breathing has NOT improved. On the other hand, his ear infection is getting better (that's a plus)! Now that we are home Bear is playing, crawling, laughing and smiling again! Still not eating as much but I'm sure we'll work up to it.

I guess only time will tell and we'll just have to wait and see how long this will take him to get over. So far, 4 weeks and counting! :/
(No pictures for this one. My sister and brother-in-law have my camera in Utah so all I had was my cell which isn't the best).
